BuraIntegrated Farm is a
mechanized farm located in Sidama Zone in SNNP region. The farm owns 1200
hectares of land with an initial capital of 61 million ETB. The land is located
at the northern tip of lake abaya at an elevation of 1180-1200meters above sea
level. There is a big river next to the farm called Gidabo river. We have
diverted this river for irrigation purpose and currently we have surface
irrigated around 400 hectares of land.
Major

Cotton for the textile Industry = on 800 hectare land
High quality fruits such as, banana, papaya, watermelon,
other pineapple 60 hectares
Improved seeds of
maize, sesame, wheat and so on, mung bean, haricot bean as
rotational
Animal fattening , apiculture and aquaculture

practice localized and intensive agricultural practices
- Develop integrated
natural resource management scheme in compliance with business management set
ups
- Assist and
develop the infrastructural set up of the area
- Transfer
technological and production culture adoption to the community
- Aiding the
community in developmental aspects
- Developing a production culture
synchronizing to the national and state policies Production of high quality
agricultural products for the local market as well as for export.
